Bears Legend Brian Urlacher Selling Lake County Mansion

Former Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, one of the best players in the team’s history, is about to tackle a real estate deal.

Four years after his retirement (he played for the Bears his entire career) and a year after marrying “America’s Next Top Model” contestant Jennipher Frost, Urlacher will be moving on from this 7,000-square-foot home in Lake County, IL. 

The seven-bedroom, eight-bath property is listed for $3 million by Charles Potter with @properties. It’s located in Mettawa, a small village near Libertyville, which is about a 40-minute drive north of Chicago.

Built in 1987, the home sits on 9.4 acres, which include a pond and two barns housing 12 stalls. There are equestrian trails across the street from the home.

Potter thinks the next owner will be a no-fuss buyer who doesn’t want to mess with maintenance but also wants to show off the home to guests.

“The fully gated property provides the full package,” Potter says. “The home provides expansive spaces that are comfortable for entertaining for everyone, including all your friends.”

These entertaining perks include a 1,300-square-foot game room with wet bar—a perfect spot to spend NFL Sundays. The room offers access to an outdoor patio with a built-in barbecue and fire pit.

There’s also a two-story playhouse and in-ground trampoline for kids. And preppers, as well as those familiar with Midwest storm patterns, should know that the home comes equipped with a Kohler generator.
