3 amazing celebrity homes nobody wants to buy
3 amazing celebrity homes nobody wants to buy
These homes may owned by Hollywood royalty, but that hasn’t meant a swift sale
These three beautiful homes have two things in common: they are currently owned by A-listers, and so far, selling has been far from straightforward.
Let’s take a look:
1. Johnny Depp’s South of France estate
Depp initially put this property, which is styled like a village, on the market last year for USD26 million, but after it failed to sell, re-listed it at double the price for USD55 million with Hilton and Hyland.
Rick Hilton of Hilton and Hylandexplains that Depp felt the estate was previously priced too low.
Located in the French countryside just outside Saint Tropez, the Bohemian-style home totals 1,200 Sqm, and includes a main house with six guest cottages, a restaurant, a bar and more than 12 bedrooms.
There are also two swimming pools, a gym, a skate park and a painter’s studio.

2. Tom Cruise’s Colorado ranch
Tom Cruise’s ranch has been on the market since 2014, with a price tag of USD59 million.
The property features a helipad, a gym, a library, almost 300 acres of rolling meadows and forest land, stunning views of the surrounding Rocky Mountains and is just 12 minutes from the historic town of Telluride.
Telluride Sotheby’s International Realty describes it as “the ultimate retreat for those seeking privacy, scenic beauty and serenity.”
While Cruise’s star power hasn’t reeled in a buyer yet, perhaps a winter sports fan with a healthy bank balance will find their dream home here; Conde Nast Traveler has named Telluride as #1 for scenery in a list of the best ski resort in North America.

3. Cate Blanchett’s Sydney home
Unlike Depp and Cruise’s properties which have as yet seen no takers, Cate Blanchett’s riverside Sydney home made headlines last August after it was snapped up by a Chinese buyer for AUD19.8 million (USD15 million) after only three weeks on the market.
Unfortunately, the buyer was forced to pull out after struggling to move funds out of China, which sees the trophy property back on the market this month.
Blanchett and husband Andrew Upton purchased Bulwarra, in Sydney’s Hunters Hill area, in 2005 for AUD10 million (USD7.6 million).
The property was built in 1877 and has 6 bedrooms, 3,642sqm of land, a tennis court and gardens designed by Will Dangar, the renowned Australian landscape designer.
