No More DC for RG3: Robert Griffin III Selling Virginia Home
After four tumultuous seasons with the Washington Redskins, Robert Griffin III is cutting all ties with the capital metro area by putting his farmhouse in Leesburg, VA, on the market for $2,749,900. The 26-year-old quarterback is headed to Cleveland to play for the beleaguered Browns.
However, with 8,561 square feet of living space, RG3’s farmhouse is more aptly described as a farm mansion.
“People say it is one of the most beautiful homes in Creighton Farms and really looks like a traditional Virginia manor home in the farmhouse style,” says Scott Prendergast, president of Apex Custom Homes, the company that built the home in 2010.
Prendergast says one of the notable things about the home is a huge walk-in closet that’s more like a “shoe library.” The QB who arrived in the NFL heralded for his scrambling ability really, really likes shoes.
Getting around the four-bedroom, four-bathroom house is easy, as it has a four-stop elevator. There’s a huge kitchen with Habersham cabinetry, a home theater, a library, a wine cellar, a wet bar, and several fireplaces. Outside there’s an enormous infinity-edge pool, perfect for chilling out after the game.
And included with the purchase is a famous neighbor: Redskins coach Jay Gruden. Hopefully, your relationship with Gruden will be far less complicated than his with Griffin. Listing agent Bill Davis sold the house to Griffin and is selling it once again.
