Last Tuesday, representatives of the Cambodian Valuers and Estate Agents Association (CVEA) met up with representatives of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), a global accreditation firm from the UK, to talk about a partnership that aims to evaluate current real estate ethics and practices and eventually provide an avenue for proper real estate education in Cambodia.
This would include special courses, degrees and certifications that would raise the bar for professionals in the field. If successful, this partnership will pave the way to setting a standard for proper asset valuation.
In the words of CVEA President, Kim Heang, “From what I see, RICS is a handsome man, and CVEA is a pretty girl, so why not we get married?” We surely hope this marriage gives birth to a wonderful future for real estate.
