When it comes to multimillion-dollar listings, we see the same features over and over. Inevitably, there’s a chef’s kitchen—even if the homeowners have never so much as boiled water. There’s an expansive wine cellar to store all the vintages worth savoring. And, of course, there’s an enormous pool out back—preferably of the infinite variety.

But in this week’s most expensive new listings on realtor.com®, we saw home features and fixtures that veered away from the new normal of over-the-top opulence. This week’s most expensive home to hit the market is a $42 million Pacific Palisades, CA, palace once owned by an entertainment exec. One of the notable features of the mansion is the formal dining room, which features walls inlaid with mother of pearl!

Besides that iridescent fabulousness, we uncovered a $40 million New York City apartment featuring eight walk-in closets, a $30 million Miami Beach home with a luxurious waterfront cabana, and a $29.5 million Bel Air mansion with a room dedicated to gift wrapping and another room dedicated to floral arranging.

For a full look at the fantastic homes attached to these amazing features, simply scroll down…

1. 1690 San Remo Dr, Pacific Palisades, CA

Price: $42,000,000 ($2,685 per square foot)

The luxe factor: The mansion of late entertainment exec Michael King is a gated estate on over an acre of land with ocean and city views. According to the Wall Street Journal, the 15,642-square-foot home was completed in 2005 after the previous home was razed. The seven-bedroom home features five fireplaces, a game room, a chef’s kitchen, and a cozy home theater.

Heavy on gold leaf, this luxury dwelling features “four distinct types of marble flooring” and “eight large walk-in closets.” The property is owned by the mysteriously named Daisho Development USA Inc., and records indicate each unit was purchased in 2008 for a little over $26 million each.

3. 4730 N Bay Rd, Miami Beach, FL

Price: $29,950,000 ($2,577 per square foot)

The luxe factor: This new build on Biscayne Bay isn’t exactly new to the market. The seven-bedroom, waterfront estate debuted a year ago with a $31.75 million price tag. According to the builders, the mansion “blends elements of French Colonial Revival, Spanish Colonial Revival and Mediterranean Revival style.” If you find that architectural ménage à trois intoxicating, you should check out the work in progress back in 2014, on Google Street View.
