$250M?! 6 Crucial Facts About the Country’s Most Expensive New Listing

0M?! 6 Crucial Facts About the Country’s Most Expensive New Listing

Most expensive listing

For those who set sail on yachts and travel on private jets, any multimillion-dollar mansion just won’t do. At least, that’s the thinking behind “spec king” Bruce Makowsky’s brand-new estate in posh Bel Air, CA. It went on the market today for an eye-popping $250 million.

The sky-high asking price sets a record for the country’s most expensive home ever listed for sale.

“The attention to detail is absolutely flawless,” says listing agent Branden Williams. “If you have the money, it’s worth every penny.”

Unsurprisingly, this spectacular estate has every amenity a mogul could want, and perhaps a few that a tycoon couldn’t even fathom. The best part: Everything in the home—from the furnishings, decor, art, and candy wall to the cars in the garage—is included in the sale.

“Everything is top of the line,” Williams adds. And in case you’re wondering if anyone would buy such a place at such a price, he says he’s already started receiving offers.

While you contemplate where to find 25 generous friends with $10 million at their disposal, here are six mind-boggling things you must keep in mind about the most primo piece of real estate in all the land.

1. Room to spread out

The 38,000-square-foot home has two master suites, 10 oversize guest suites, 21 bathrooms, three kitchens, five bars, a massage studio and spa, and a gym. There’s also 17,000 square feet of outdoor decks for entertaining.

2. Time is money

The property took over four years and 250 workers to complete. In addition to the eye-popping architecture, the house also comes with a full-time staff of seven. (But no, you’re not buying them.)

3. A turnkey museum

The home has been decorated with over 100 curated art installations, including some quirky conversation pieces such as the portraits of Snow White’s seven dwarfs.

4. SoCal style

Naturally, seamless indoor-outdoor living is at a premium with this property. The floor-to-ceiling glass, multiple outdoor decks, and the 85-foot infinity-edge swimming pool all take advantage of the 270-degree view of the mountains, the Pacific Ocean, and the Los Angeles skyline.

5. Entertainment abounds

There are plenty of ways to have fun without setting foot outside the property. A buyer will acquire a four-lane bowling alley and lounge, a 40-seat 4K Dolby Atmos Theater, an outdoor hydraulic pop-up theater, two cellars stocked with wine and Champagne, and a game room with a candy wall. If you must leave, you can speed off in one of the cars showcased in the sprawling auto gallery.

6. Been there, done that

This isn’t Makowsky’s first spin around the spec-home block. The developer made headlines in late 2014 when he sold one of his luxe creations in Beverly Hills, CA, to Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson for $70 million in cash. That spectacular home also included what must now be considered true marks of a Makowsky design: a 16-car gallery and a candy wall.
