Based on the Gold Coast, Hannah Sbeghen is a journalist reporting on all angles of the property market. Surrounded by multi-million dollar mansions, celebrity holiday homes and beach shacks she is yet to have a dull day in real estate. Hannah believes the Gold Coast is a gold mine for hot property and plans to nab a unit with ocean views.
FROM a library with a gas fireplace, to a 10-seater theatre and an integrated espresso machine, this stunning residence offers a lifestyle of luxury on a grand scale.
Lucy Cole Prestige Properties marketing agent Nick Cole said the owners had given the home a total makeover.
“They basically rebuilt the house after they bought it,” Mr Cole said.
The waterfront home, which is set on a 1,244sq m block, was renovated extensively in 2003.
The homeowners added two separate granny flats to accommodate members of their extended family.
Solid concrete walls, a flat roof and a number of new rooms including a theatre were also part of the renovation.
The homeowners said the property was in perfect condition when they first bought it, however sparing no expense, they wanted their home to mimic a resort.
“We wanted the feel that we could be at any resort,” the homeowner said.
“It now has massive outdoor entertainment areas. It truly is a house that has supersized everything.
“We had always been fond of the street due to its private position looking across the Nerang River. We bought the house the same afternoon we saw it … and decided to do a complete renovation to suit our large family.
“We did a complete strip and took the walls out and the roof off.”
The indoor and outdoor flow is enhanced by bi-fold doors which were added throughout the house while sandstone tiles imported from the Philippines were laid around the Pebblecrete pool.
The ground floor is made up of the lifestyle space, which opens to a 92sq m sheltered outdoor entertainment area with expansive river views.
The six-bedroom house has a home theatre with surround sound and a 3D projector.
