NBC News Anchor Lester Holt Wants to Double His Money on Manhattan Apartment
Veteran TV news anchor Lester Holt is listing his 2,168-square-foot midtown Manhattan apartment for $6.6 million—a decade after buying it for just $3.3 million.
Holt and his wife, Carol Hagen-Holt, bought the three-bedroom, 2.5-bath apartment in 2007, the same year Holt took over as weekend anchor on “NBC Nightly News.” Hagen-Holt works as a real estate agent in New York; she is sharing this listing with broker Joann Wasserman.
The apartment is located on Fifth Avenue, in the “NoMad” district, a small, upscale neighborhood north of Madison Square Park. It has 11-foot-tall ceilings, a 48-foot-long terrace, and park views.
The open kitchen features bluestone countertops, oak cabinets, an island, and Viking and Miele appliances, including a built-in espresso maker.
The bedrooms each have french doors opening to the terrace, which overlooks the building’s courtyard garden. The master bedroom has custom closets, and the en suite bathroom features Calacatta marble flooring and walls, a double vanity, soaking tub, and separate shower. The home’s custom window treatments and lights are automated and can be controlled through a smartphone app.
The apartment’s 13-story building, originally known as the Brunswick Building, was constructed in 1906. In 2005, the building was renovated and reopened as the 187-unit Grand Madison Condominiums.
Holt became a broadcast journalist while in college in California, and went on to spend 19 years at CBS. Holt joined NBC in 2000, where he’s appeared on “The Today Show,” “Dateline,” and “NBC Nightly News.”
