NFL All-Pro Adrian Peterson Trims Price on His Minnesota Home
NFL running back Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings is one of the most polarizing figures in the National Football League. He’s one of the league’s top 20 all-time leading rushers, and has been one of its most popular players, but he’s also had his reputation tarnished by allegations of child abuse.
Now, he’s ready to leave the Land of 10,000 Lakes in his rear-view mirror—and he’s in a hurry. His home in Eden Prairie, MN, in the Twin Cities suburbs just had its price cut after about a month on the market.
Initially listed for $695,000, it’s now priced at $680,000. At $163 per square foot, it’s $16 over the city’s median price per square foot. Perhaps there’s a purple premium built in?
The 4,167-square-foot home has five bedrooms and 3.5 baths and sits on a 0.38-acre lot. The home’s amenities include heated floors and a large kitchen.
Perhaps the home’s most distinctive feature is a game room painted in the Vikings’ purple and gold, with the team’s logo gracing the center of the wall. In its first week on the market, the home was the most popular listing in the country.
Peterson spent the past 10 seasons starring for the Vikes, but the franchise declined to renew his contract in February 2017.
For the 2017 season, the star rusher will trade in the only colors he’s worn in the NFL for black and gold, when he suits up for the New Orleans Saints. In April 2017, he signed a two-year, $7 million contract to play in the Big Easy.
Peterson also recently relisted his mansion in The Woodlands, TX, for $6.2 million. The Texas spread, which hit the market last summer for $8.5 million, is still awaiting a buyer.
