The number 23 has always held significance for NBA megastar LeBron James. It represents the on-court ghost of Michael Jordan—the basketball legend he’s been compared with ever since James set foot on an NBA court.

Now, the number 23 holds additional meaning when it comes to King James’ real estate game.

According to TMZ, James has shelled out $23 million on his latest real estate purchase—an eight-bedroom, 11-bathroom mansion in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Brentwood.

This marks the second home James has bought in the Brentwood area—the first being a custom-built, 9,300-square-foot house he bought in 2015 for a little under $21 million. After that big buy, rumors began to swirl that James might eventually leave the Cleveland Cavaliers (again!) for the Los Angeles Lakers.

This second home purchase only serves to further fan those rumors.

His latest acquisition is a masterpiece of light and design, according the description provided by listing agent Santiago Arana of The Agency.

Newly built and gated, the residence showcases a warm, traditional-style exterior with contemporary, European finishes throughout. A private driveway leads to towering glass doors that open to a foyer showcasing a 14-foot ceiling. Marble floors reportedly sourced from Spain are under foot. A formal dining room comes with a hidden door to the service kitchen.

Beyond the entry, a great room flows to the kitchen, which features a custom stove, walk-in refrigerator and pantry, and marble slab island. Sliding walls of glass throughout the main level make for a seamless transition to the outdoor living area.

Other amenities on the main level include a library, service kitchen, formal and informal powder rooms, staff quarters, and a mudroom off the two-car garage.

The second level opens to a large living area and includes four bedrooms with city and ocean views. The master wing features wide-plank French oak flooring, a sitting area, marble fireplace, private patio with city and ocean views, dual showroom closets, and dual bathrooms.

A rooftop terrace offers views from downtown L.A. to the ocean and features marble flooring, two fire pits, a lounge, fire pit, and barbecue area.

The lower level holds a soundproof theater with a THX-certified sound system, 1,500-bottle wine cellar, as well as a lounge for wine tasting and cigars. Upon exiting the cigar room, a restaurant-caliber bar awaits. A 10-car auto gallery, VIP guest suite, and indoor-outdoor gym round out the level’s features.

And to finish the luxury off, there’s a parklike backyard with marble slab patios, a heated loggia, kitchen with built-in barbecue, multiple refrigerators, an ice machine, and beer taps. The oversize swimming pool and spa are reminiscent of a resort.

Widely considered the best player currently in the NBA, James has been involved in a staggering seven straight NBA Finals. He won two championship rings during his stint with the Miami Heat and led the Cavaliers to the team’s first-ever championship two seasons ago.
