Chester Bennington’s Final California Home Now Available for Rent
It’s a beautiful home in the upscale coastal neighborhood of Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles. And the rental price of $8,800 a month is reasonable for the area.
But the home comes with a tragic backstory. It’s the home where Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington hanged himself in one of the bedrooms.
According to public records, Bennington purchased the 3,956-square-foot house in May 2017 for $2.4 million. He took his own life there in July. In the following weeks, fans left flowers, candles, and messages on the front curb.
Although he lived there for a short time, Bennington left a positive impression on the neighborhood. One neighbor wrote on a neighborhood website that he “never let his celebrity status affect how he treated residents nearby,” according to the Daily Breeze.
The home is situated on a private lot close to hiking trails, it’s located in one of the area’s finest school districts, and it is family-friendly, with a pool, spa, and grassy area with a children’s playhouse. It has five large bedrooms and four bathrooms.
The living and family rooms have vaulted ceilings, and the remodeled chef’s kitchen has an island, bar, pantry, and stainless-steel appliances.
The master suite spans the second floor and features a walk-in closet, luxe bathroom, and private deck.
Bennington was a two-time Grammy winner with Linkin Park. He also sang with the Stone Temple Pilots and Dead by Sunrise. At the time of his death, he was married to former model Talinda Bentley, with whom he had three children.
