An impeccable and well-preserved Frank Lloyd Wright home has landed on the market in Minneapolis for $3.4 million.

More than just a residence, this property is a piece of American history. It’s been meticulously preserved by its two previous owners and presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live in a significant slice of Wright’s legacy.

Construction was completed in 1951 on the three-bedroom, three-bathroom, 2,500-square-foot home, which is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Originally built for Frieda and Henry J. Neils, the home overlooks Cedar Lake and features Wright’s Usonian aesthetic, including his signature L-shape layout and use of natural materials.

Henry was a distributor for architectural materials and worked closely with Wright on the home’s design and construction, according to Curbed. The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation explains the home was designed “on a unit system of hexagons” with walls uniquely carved out of marble.

Other Wright touches include the Cherokee Red floors, expansive windows, and generous built-ins throughout the home.

Just last year, Paul and Helen Ofelt, original owners of a different Wright-designed property in St. Louis Park, put their home—including all of the Wright-designed furniture and accessories—on the market for $1.5 million. It was later reduced to $1.3 million.

There’s no doubt Wright left behind designs which look just as stylish today as they did nearly a century ago. With only two previous owners, the Neils house is ready for a new steward to take care of the property for the next generation of Wright devotees. Lucky homeowners indeed.
