Former MLB All-Star Placido Polanco Selling Florida Mansion for .35M
Former MLB infielder Plácido Polanco has put his contemporary home in Pinecrest, FL, on the market for $4.35 million.
Polanco purchased the barren acre lot in 2014 for $920,000, planning to build a massive mansion and then turning a hefty profit on it.
This isn’t his first foray in Florida real estate—the utility infielder definitely understands the utility of successful deals.
The 43-year-old sold a Tuscan-style residence (also in Pinecrest) in 2014 for $4.59 million, close to his asking price of $4.85 million. He’s signed on the same listing agent—Josie Wang—for his current listing.
The 7,053-square-foot home is sleek and modern, with six beds, six baths, and two half-baths. It features a 24-foot-high ceiling, designer flooring, and stone, marble, and tile finishes.
The open layout includes a living space, dining area, and indoor-outdoor access leading to a covered patio and seating area with views of the pool. The spacious kitchen with a casual dining area opens to a comfortable family room. Sports fans will appreciate the office walls currently covered with sports memorabilia. Others may prefer the luxurious master suite with a “sumptuous” bath.
The landscaped outdoor space includes feng shui water features, an entertaining area with fire pit, cabana, kitchen, putting green, and pool.
Polanco began his 16-year MLB career with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2002 and then suited up for the Philadelphia Phillies, Detroit Tigers, and Miami Marlins. The three-time Gold Glove winner played two All-Star games. A native of the Dominican Republic, he was equally adept at defense at second base or third base and finished his career with 104 home runs.
