Here’s a tale of the city: Ellen Page‘s midcentury modern home in Los Angeles sold for slightly over asking price. A true new year’s treat!
Listed in December 2018 for $1,995,000, according to Variety, the residence was quickly snapped up at the beginning of the new year for $2.1 million.
The “Umbrella Academy” star purchased the post-and-beam home in 2014 for $1.7 million from tennis pro Venus Williams.
Built in 1955, the gated home features a carport, motor court, and pool. The 1,528-square-foot home includes a master suite and two guest bedrooms, one currently in use as an office.
Sliding glass doors open the living space, with its high ceilings, clerestory windows, and light wood floors, to the pool, lawn, and deck outside.
Updated for modern needs, the space still retains original features such as the fireplace anchoring the living room as well as terrazzo flooring. The galley kitchen with a skylight has new appliances and light wood cabinetry.
The home is located near Hollywood, the Sunset Strip, Laurel Canyon, and Studio City.
Page, 32 and an Oscar nominee, shot to fame with her breakout role in the movie “Juno.” She’s since starred in “Inception,” “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” and the upcoming sequel to “Tales of the City,” which will air on Netflix.
