Fore Sale? Pro Golfer Mark O’Meara Selling His .69M Houston Mansion
PGA Tour champ Mark O’Meara’s Houston mansion is on the market for $3.69 million. The custom home—with a putting green designed by the owner himself—is filled with the tournament winner’s touches. See if you can spot the sports memorabilia throughout the golfer’s gorgeous abode.
O’Meara and his wife bought the nearly complete Mediterranean-style mansion in 2009, then added their custom finishes, says listing agent Diane Kingshill of Compass. Even the outdoor space, which showcases a pool and spa, is filled with “gorgeous plants and flowers inspired by some of the world’s most beautiful golf courses.”
So grab your green jacket and let’s take a tour.
By the numbers, the residence is 7,072 square feet with five bedrooms and 6.5 baths. The home sits on over a half-acre lot.
The interior features a living and dining area with walls of windows and travertine floors. The 62-year-old golfer added the custom trophy case in the formal living room for the keepsakes he’s acquired from his decades on the links.
The chef’s kitchen includes a large island with granite counters and Viking appliances. The space opens out to a casual eating area.
Upstairs is the huge master suite and bath with dual vanities and walk-in closets. Another perk: The bedroom is equipped with a coffee bar and minifridge—so there’s no need to stroll down to the kitchen for a beverage.
Other luxury amenities include a home theater, wine cellar, office with built-ins, family room, and elevator. Outdoors, there’s a circular driveway as well as a three-car garage.
O’Meara added a pool and spa with Italian tile work. He also designed the putting green, installed by Green Links, with contours and slopes.
“He putts and practices every day that he’s home,” says Kingshill.
And megafans, take note! Buy this house, and O’Meara will treat you to a private putting lesson on your brand-new green. In addition, “a buyer can probably get their picture taken with all of the trophies,” notes Kingshill.
Though the trophies will leave with O’Meara, the home’s furnishings are available to stay in the home for the next owner.
O’Meara and his wife, Meredith, are relocating to Park City, UT. There, the pro will practice at Tuhaye Golf Club, on the course that he designed.
The legendary golfer has 16 wins on the PGA tour, including the Masters, British Open, and five AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-am Championships.
