An international standard stadium in Kampong Speu worth US$ 2 million to begin construction next week

An international standard stadium in Kampong Speu worth approximately US$ 2 million will begin the construction next week as the study of project plan had been finished recently, H.E. Vy Samnang, Kampong Speu administer, told Construction and Property Magazine on 11 May 2020.

“Before choosing a plan, we have to study from other country experiences as well. Our H.E lawmaker has just decided on the plan. Hence, the construction will begin next week, and at the moment we are sending construction workers to the field,” he said.

He added that the “Covid-19 crisis does not affect this stadium process, because there are no new cases in Cambodia, and now we only have two patients left to be cured. Notably, in Kampong Speu, we have never had any cases. Therefore, the process of construction of this new international standard stadium can continue as usual.”

This international stadium was officially broken ground on 15 December 2019, costing US$2 million and is funded by Naga World foundation. The project set to be finished ahead of the 2023 SEA Games having Cambodia as a host.
