Adrian Peterson Runs Away With This Week’s Most Popular Home

Adrian Peterson Runs Away With This Week’s Most Popular Home

When we tallied up this week’s clicks on realtor.com®, we had a runaway winner. It’s apropos, considering the house at the top of our list of this week’s most popular homes belongs to former Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.

After his decadelong run with the Vikes ended, Peterson no longer needed his place in the north. He’s since moved to New Orleans and is selling his five-bedroom home for just a hair under $700,000. It’s a modest price to pay to follow in the footsteps of a four-time All-Pro and 2012 NFL MVP. And as a bonus for fans of the team, the lower-level game room is already painted in shades of purple and gold with a massive Vikings logo on the wall.

Purple also played a factor in our runner-up, a Las Vegas mansion painted shades of violet throughout. Owned by the rapper known as Riff Raff, the home will require a makeover from the eventual buyer—unless the buyer happens to be partial to purple.

Besides the two lavender-tinged properties, you also clicked on an adorable shotgun home in Kentucky, a 110-room Gilded Age mansion in Pennsylvania, and a former Masonic lodge in upstate New York.

We won’t make you swear your allegiance to the stonemasons, but we will ask you to scroll down and check out the full list of this week’s most popular properties.

10. 34745 County Road 439, Eustis, FL

Price: $624,900
Why it’s here: Horse-related properties continue to gallop away with the hearts of aspiring cowgirls (and cowboys) everywhere. This affordable option in central Florida doesn’t quite compare with the elite equestrian options available in tony enclaves like Wellington, FL, but it’s on 10 acres and comes with a 26,000-square-foot arena. Saddle up!

9. 833 E Franklin St, Louisville, KY

Price: $150,000
Why it’s here: With a small footprint, this shack doesn’t look like much from the exterior. However, inside is a different story. Decorated with charm and designed to maximize the small square footage (965!), this shotgun-style home has already grazed the heart of a buyer—it’s in pending sale status.

8. A1 Ashbourne Rd, Elkins Park, PA

Price: $17,500,000
Why it’s here: Known as Lynnewood Hall, it’s “one of the largest surviving Gilded Age mansions in the Philadelphia area.” It was built in 1897 and features a jaw-dropping 110 rooms. We’d love to see a titan of today’s economy bring this place back to glory.

7. 250 Saddle Hill Rd, Stamford, CT

Price: $1,250,000
Why it’s here: It’s Cyndi Lauper‘s house. The singer’s French-style mansion tumbled six spots from its perch atop last week’s list. The ’80s music icon is simply waiting for a buyer who’ll let the true color of green come shining through.

6. 7918 Inverness Lakes Trail, Fort Wayne, IN

Price: $574,000
Why it’s here: Light and bright, this five-bedroom home is ready to handle a growing family. The only question: Will the basement be converted into a fabulous fitness center or massive man cave?

5. Undisclosed address, Little Falls, NY

Price: $325,000
Why it’s here: Biggest bargain ever? This old Masonic lodge offers over 12,000 square feet of living space for the low, low price of $325,000. We’re not math majors, but that comes to a measly $27 per square foot. Best of all, you don’t have to pledge any bloody oaths to take over this mansion.

4. 21261 Merlot Ln, Tyler, TX

Price: $389,000
Why it’s here: Sitting on nearly 2 acres, this charming property was the personal home of a local builder. The four-bedroom beauty features plenty of distinctive design touches and custom features to make buyers swoon.

3. 10 Mohegan Ave, Old Saybrook, CT

Price: $11,800,000
Why it’s here: We posed the question in March: Why hasn’t anyone bought Katharine Hepburn‘s estate? Two months later, the query still stands. Hepburn’s former home has bounced on and off the market for the better part of a decade. It reappeared a couple of months ago with a discounted price, and perhaps it’ll finally get a well-deserved happy ending.

2. 5148 Mountain Foliage Dr, Las Vegas, NV

Price: $1,385,000
Why it’s here: Known as the Purple Palace for the shades of violet running throughout the home, it was recently vacated by the rapper Riff Raff. According to TMZ, the rapper also had a different nickname for his home: the Codeine Castle. Mind-altering substances aside, the restorative effects of this five-bedroom home will likely be welcome after a long day spent walking around the Strip.

1. 9212 Cold Stream Ln, Eden Prairie, MN

Price: $695,000
Why it’s here: It’s the home of former Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson. After 10 seasons with the Vikes, the All-Pro was let go.

Now hoping to resurrect his career in New Orleans, Peterson has no use for this relatively modest five-bedroom home in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. The home’s a perfectly elegant affair, but it doesn’t really scream big baller. For that, we point you in the direction of Peterson’s off-season palace in Texas—which was recently discounted to $6.2 million.

Bonus? For Vikings fans, the spacious game room won’t require a paint job—it’s already done up in a purple-and-gold paint scheme.
