After 6 Years, Comedian Jeff Dunham Finally Sells His Del Mar Mansion
Ventriloquist and stand-up comedian Jeff Dunham found out selling his mansion in Del Mar, CA, was no laughing matter. The beach-view property was initially listed for $8.75 million in 2011, with Dunham periodically lowering the price over the years. The mansion was finally sold about a week ago, for $5.5 million.
The eventual sale price is not a reflection on the beauty of the home. We’re betting the 55-year-old funnyman didn’t really get serious about the sale until April, when he dropped the price to $7 million.
Described as a “Coastal Resort Oasis,” it has cascading pools, secret waterways, tree-lined pathways, and ocean views.
Built in 2007, the three-story, Mediterranean-style home has five bedrooms, six baths, and two half-baths. The 6,423-square-foot mansion is located in Del Mar, a tony town in San Diego County, best known for its racetrack where “the surf meets the turf.”
The mansion comes with a saltwater aquarium and a wine cellar that can hold 4,000 bottles.
For outdoor entertainment, there’s a pool with slide, a private beach, and rock waterfalls flowing into four ponds. They’re all surrounded by palm trees, tropical flowers, and statues. There’s an outdoor kitchen and bar as well.
For after-hours relaxation, there’s a hot tub on a terrace outside the master bathroom.
The mansion is clear evidence that Dunham is a master entertainer, both in public and in private. He’s just released his “Relative Disaster” comedy special on Netflix, and is currently traveling the country with his “Perfectly Unbalanced” tour.
