Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof Make a Pricey Purchase in Encino

“How I Met Your Mother” star Alyson Hannigan and her husband, Alexis Denisof, are roosting in an Encino, CA, home that the couple recently bought for $8 million, a cool half-million below asking, says Variety.

Built in 2001, the home features five bedrooms, 6.5 baths, and three acres, with views of the San Fernando Valley. The exterior is pure sleek contemporary and the interior offers a more rustic vibe, with lots of wood and stone. There are also steel-framed windows and vaulted ceilings spread over 5,500 square feet of living space. There’s a great room, media room, and open kitchen with chocolate-colored cabinets.

The property also features a separate guesthouse, swimming pool, and tennis court on grounds dotted with palms and fruit trees. Even with the $500K discount off asking, it’s the priciest purchase to take place in Encino over the past half-year.

The purchase caps a string of real estate deals involving this dynamic duo. Earlier this year, they successfully rented out their home in Santa Monica—it was available for lease at $17,500 per month.

They’re also in the process of flipping a mansion in Brentwood they purchased in 2015.

Hannigan and Denisof met while working on the late-1990s TV series, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” and have been married since 2003. Hannigan was part of the ensemble cast of the TV sitcom, “How I Met Your Mother,” which ran for 11 seasons on CBS. We’ll always think of her as the this-one-time-at-band-camp geek in “American Pie” (1999).
