Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker Cut Price on Carolina Home
Tennis ace Andy Roddick and his wife, actress-model Brooklyn Decker, are selling their home in Cashiers, NC, for $2.75 million. They recently sliced $250,000 from the price.
Initially listed for $3 million in June, the four-bedroom home is located in a popular vacation destination in the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Nantahala National Forest in western North Carolina.
It sits on 2.76 acres on Silver Springs Lake and features antique oak floors, reclaimed wood ceilings, gold fixtures in the kitchen and master bath, and a master suite with a “secret” sitting room in the loft area above, the listing says.
Custom-built in 2013, the home is surrounded rivers and waterfalls and overlooks the lake. Forbes says the couple purchased the land in 2013, hoping to build their forever home. But after the birth of their son, Hank, in September 2015, the growing family decided to build another, larger home 3 miles away. There are plenty of multimillion-dollar homes for sale in the area, including an enormous estate priced for nearly $10 million.
Roddick played in four Grand Slam tennis finals and was ranked in the top 10 for nine consecutive years from 2002 to 2010. He retired in 2012 at age 30. Decker has graced the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and has acted in the films “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” and “Battleship.”
