Baltimore Orioles Closer Zach Britton Lists Cool Contemporary in Texas
One of Major League Baseball’s premier relievers is looking to close a deal on his sleek Texas home.
Zach Britton, the All-Star closer for the Baltimore Orioles, has listed his contemporary Texas home for $1.5 million. The property in Spicewood, TX, sits on the banks of the Colorado River and Lake Travis and measures just over an acre.
Britton, who is originally from California, moved to Texas as a teenager with his family before catching the attention of big-league scouts as an outfielder for Weatherford High School.
The five-bedroom, six-bathroom home features multiple decks overlooking the scenic waterfront of the famous Hill Country community.
The home has three stories and a luxurious floor plan highlighted by a spacious family room, game room, media room, and guest suite with a private bath. There’s stone and hardwood flooring throughout. Additional draws include a chef’s kitchen with a large island, breakfast bar, and stone countertops.
According to listing agent Sean Rand, the master suite is stunning and features a freestanding jetted tub and walk-in shower.
As one of the Orioles’ top pitching prospects at the beginning of the decade, Britton is enjoying the prime of his career pitching and saving games for Baltimore.
In 2015, the left-hander made his first All-Star team when he began the season with saves in 23 of his first 24 attempts. He finished the campaign with the third most saves in the American League and an impressive 1.92 ERA.
He doubled his salary in 2016 and went on to post his best season to date—earning another All-Star nod and picking up the Mariano Rivera Award after leading the league in saves. The ace closer has saved five games this season thus far, but he’s been on the disabled list since early May with a forearm strain.
