Former Giants slugger Jeff Kent is selling his custom-built mansion in Austin, TX, for $3.1 million—and you have to check out the pool out back.
Even with stellar views overlooking Barton Creek Preserve and Lake Austin (and with an address like 12006 Pleasant Panorama View, are you shocked?), the 8,794-square-foot home’s crowning achievement might be the professionally designed pool with a long, twisting, and turning waterslide.
“The pool design was a joint consultation with Langle Design and the Schlitterbahn design team,” listing agent Jodi Langle says. If that sounds familiar, it’s because Schlitterbahn is best known for its waterparks throughout Texas. So yeah, the thing is bonkers.
“It has multiple areas, multiple levels, including a swim-up bar, water features, vanishing edge, catch pools, caves, and a spa. The slide is extraordinary,” Langle says.
In addition to the jaw-dropping private water park, the house features hand-milled mesquite wood in doors, floors, rails, and exposed beams. There’s 1,335 square feet of garage space, enough for six cars, and one of the bays has been converted into a batting cage. The home has six bedrooms and seven full bathrooms and sits on just under an acre of land.
Kent, 48, retired in 2008 after 17 successful seasons in the big leagues. He made the All-Star team five times and holds the record for the most career home runs for a second baseman. Langle says the 2000 National League MVP recently moved to a ranchette in the Austin area.
