Bruce Willis Cuts Price of Country Estate in New York
Actor Bruce Willis still wants someone to “buy hard” when it comes to his Westchester County real estate.
The “Die Hard” franchise star has once again chopped the price of his New York country home. He’s now asking $7.5 million for the 9,000-square-foot estate, the Real Deal reported. Along with the price cut, the acreage that comes with the property has also been trimmed.
Initially, Willis and his wife, Emma Heming, placed the property on the market for $13 million at the beginning of the year, along with 22.6 acres.
The motivated sellers, who have since relocated to the West Coast, lowered the asking price to $11.9 million in March. By June, the price had been cut again to its current ask. That price is significantly less than the $9 million the couple paid in 2014.
But if buyers come along and want the full compound experience, they’ll have to shell out an extra $1,895,000 for the remaining 8.2 acres with three guesthouses. The parcel was part of the original listing, but separating the lots helped lower the asking price—and offers fresh options for interested buyers.
Built in 2009, the luxury residence offers lovely views of the Croton Reservoir and beyond. The gated property features a five-bedroom main house and a finished lower level. The landscaping includes a vegetable garden, a saltwater pool, tennis court (which needs resurfacing), and poolhouse.
The picturesque space includes a large living room with a wall of windows, a family room, a formal dining room, and an eat-in kitchen. In addition, the layout includes an office, a gym, and a turret to take in the surrounding views.
Even with the home on the market, Willis seems to have an “Unbreakable” tie to the East Coast. He and Heming purchased an $8 million condo on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
The 64-year-old has also made headlines for another recent real estate transaction, this time in the Caribbean. After five months on the market, his getaway in the Turks and Caicos Islands sold for $27 million, the Los Angeles Times reports. Willis spent years creating the tropical retreat, which now has three houses, with a total of 13,500 square feet. The impressive vacation spot boasts multiple decks, four pools, a beachfront yoga pavilion, and a playground with a pirate ship.
Along with the “Die Hard” movies, Willis has starred in multiple films, including “Pulp Fiction,” “The Sixth Sense,” and “Glass.”
Ann Cutbill Lenane, Nancy Strong, and Stacey Oestreich of Douglas Elliman hold the listing.
