After over 30 years of homeownership, baseball legend Cal Ripken Jr. is selling his 24-acre spread in suburban Maryland. The elegant estate landed on the market this week and is asking $12.5 million.

“It’s a spectacular estate,” says listing agent Charlie Hatter of Monument Sotheby’s International Realty. “We’re receiving a lot of phone calls.”

Known for his durability and his record-breaking streak of consecutive games played, Ripken has a home built to last. The 25,000-square-foot main home includes six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. It was custom-built for the Ripken family in 1985 and completely renovated in the late 1990s.

The home features a country-style kitchen with a glass-front refrigerator and black granite counters; master suite with sitting room and fireplace; media room; and gigantic gym. There’s also a home theater with a faux ticket booth.

If the gym isn’t enough for your workout needs, there’s an indoor basketball court. And appropriately, the property has its very own baseball diamond out back.

Ripken and his wife, Kelly, lived on the estate for most of their 30-year marriage before divorcing in April, the Washington Post says. Ripken now lives in Annapolis, MD.

Ripken, 56, manned the infield with the Baltimore Orioles over 21 seasons in the MLB, making the All-Star team 19 times. The Hall of Famer retired after the 2001 season, three seasons after his streak of 2,632 games played in a row came to an end.
