CBS Anchor Scott Pelley May Take a Small Loss on His CT Estate
CBS news anchor and “60 Minutes” correspondent Scott Pelley is trying to sell his Colonial-style home in Darien, CT, for $3,985,000. The list price is a smidge below the $4 million he paid for the place in 2007.
The home sits on a 2-acre lot in the heart of Fairfield County—a bedroom community of New York City. The house features an impressive entry hall with a double staircase, large dining and living rooms, a paneled library, and a master suite with balcony and fireplace.
The five-bedroom, five-bath house also features a media room, oak hardwood floors, and a white kitchen with center island. The backyard boasts expansive lawns and an ice skating pond. There’s also a three-car garage.
Could the move of General Electric’s headquarters from Fairfield County to Boston be putting pressure on high-end properties in the area? If so, GE CEO Jeffery Immelt hasn’t been immune to market forces. Immelt listed his mansion in nearby New Canaan for $5.5 million in May 2016, but has since cut the price to $4,725,000.
Pelley, 59, has been anchor and managing editor of the “CBS Evening News” since 2011, and a “60 Minutes” correspondent since 2004.
