CDC approves US million investment in three construction material factories

The Cambodian government, through the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), has recently given permits to three firms to invest a total of US$12 million in establishing three construction material factories in Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville and Takeo.

The first project is an investment of about US$ 2.5 million by Ningo Bainian (Cambodia) Electric Appliance Co., Ltd to build an electrical equipment factory in Por Sen Chey district, Phnom Penh.

The second project is an investment of US$6.2 million by Shanxi Hexin (Cambodia) Metal Technology Co., Ltd to construct a lightweight brick-and-mortar factory in Prey Nup district of Preah Sihanouk Province.

Meanwhile, the third project is a light fixture assembly factory in Takeo province, which is an investment of US$3.4 million by Litkconn Technology (Cambodia) Co., Ltd.

According to the CDC, the three projects will help create at least 1,300 jobs for local people.

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has so far approved hundreds of projects worth billions of dollars. The most recent one was the approval of three firms to invest a total of US$662 million in establishing a hospital, a shopping mall, and a multipurpose resort. (Read more)
