CNN Anchor Don Lemon Sells a Tiny Condo in Harlem
CNN anchor Don Lemon is a big fan of New York City’s Harlem neighborhood—often posting photos on his social media account of what the city’s skyline looks like from his apartment.
The Emmy-winning journalist likes the neighborhood so much that he bought three apartment units in the same building—an upscale, 88-unit condo development called 2280 FDB. He currently lives in a three-bedroom apartment on the 11th floor, and purchased the one-bedroom unit next door, with the intention of blowing out the walls and combining the units.
He previously owned a separate apartment on the sixth floor, which he sold for a tidy profit.
Just this month, he opted against renovations on the 11th floor and sold his one-bedroom apartment as well, turning a profit of roughly $100,000.
He had purchased the apartment for $868,000 in 2014 and sold it this month for $969,000.
The 850-square-foot apartment features an open layout, hardwood floors, a stacked washer and dryer, eastern and southern views of the city, a walk-in closet, and a tiled bathroom with glass-walled shower and tub. The high-end kitchen comes with Caesarstone countertops, Miele dishwasher, Sub-Zero refrigerator (with a see-through door), and Wolf range.
The building includes a rooftop deck with a wood-burning fireplace and grill, gym, bicycle room, doorman, and staffed garage.
Whoever bought the apartment gets to live next door to Lemon himself. He might not be around on the weekends though, as he recently purchased a multimillion-dollar home in Sag Harbor.
Lemon joined CNN in 2006. He won an Emmy for his coverage of real estate in Chicago, followed by three local Emmys for his coverage in Africa and a business feature on Craigslist.
