Cool Venice Cottage From ‘I Love You, Man’ Rocks Onto the Market for .25M
If you saw the 2009 comedy “I Love You, Man,” the search for bromance was the foundation of the film. However, the carefree beach lifestyle also played a crucial part in the movie about one man’s quest to find a male best friend.
In the movie, newfound BFFs portrayed by Jason Segel and Paul Rudd jam on guitars in Segel’s man cave located just spitting distance from the famed beach in Venice, CA.
Now the experience can be yours if you can scrape together $2.25 million for the beach bungalow where they filmed those rockin’ out scenes. And if the price seems like a strange plot twist, it’s actually right in line with the beach town’s median list price of $2.2 million.
The two-bedroom beach bungalow last changed hands in 2008 for $1,125,000, which was after Rudd and Segel filmed their on-camera bromance in the garage. Built in 1907 and measuring less than 700 square feet, the house looks to have been spiffed up in the past decade.
The cottage has an open floor plan, with the living room flowing into the dining area, which then flows into the cozy kitchen.
The quaint bungalow has beamed ceilings, which help to make it seen bigger than it actually is. There’s also a grassy backyard and three parking spaces on the 3,404-square-foot lot. A private garden with an outdoor dining area is included.
Of course, there’s the famous garage—although it isn’t outfitted with the rockin’ decor seen on the big screen.
As with most beach properties, proximity to the sand plays a starring role.
The house is located just steps from the famed Venice Boardwalk and sandy beach, as well as fine dining and chic shopping venues on Abbot Kinney Boulevard, Main Street, or the newly revitalized Rose Avenue corridor.
And although the home’s had many improvements over the years, you can still rock out in the garage to some epic tunes. You may even make a new friend or two!
