The University of California unceremoniously dumped head football coach Sonny Dykes earlier this month. Now the ousted coach is selling a pretty fantastic home in Piedmont, CA, for $4.25 million.

The five-bedroom, 6.5-bath home features hardwood floors, coffered ceilings, huge kitchen with crystal chandeliers hanging over a stone-covered center island, formal dining room, and master suite with two baths and a to-die-for dressing room. We’re in love with the stately home’s open and airy feel, generous wine cellar, and bountiful backyard.

Dykes’ home is now the priciest property listed in Piedmont, a posh enclave in the foothills surrounded by Oakland on all sides. It’s also known as the longtime home of former Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis. The tiny town is currently home to just a handful of active listings, none priced below a million. Property records show the house last changed hands in 2009 for $3.45 million.

College football fans were taken aback by Dykes’ firing just weeks before National Signing Day and only a year after he signed a contract extension through 2019. He was in Berkeley for four seasons, putting up a less-than-stellar 19-30 record.
