Former MLB Closer Huston Street Wants to Close Deal on Austin Mansion
Former closer Huston Street wants to close a deal on his Austin, TX, estate. The three-time All-Star is now offering his 10,198-square-foot mansion for an equally massive $7 million.
The price is a bump up from the last time he put the Mediterranean-style villa on the market in 2015, for $5.4 million. Street hopes for a different outcome this time around.
We can see why the Austin native may have an eye on the bottom line. A year ago, he retired from the MLB after suffering two injury-plagued seasons.
Even with a boost to the asking price, the home is a home run.
Built in 2007, the “impeccably designed custom home” on 1 acre comes with 150 feet of Lake Austin waterfront. The main house has six bedrooms, five bathrooms, and three half-baths. There are six living areas, a chef’s kitchen, two fireplaces, a wine room, and home theater.
There’s a separate entrance to access the office, gym, and guest quarters. Outside, a fireplace and kitchen overlook the pool and spa. There’s also a boat dock and covered party deck.
The 35-year-old All-Star is also working on another real estate deal. Huston and his mother, Janie Street, purchased a development site in downtown Austin in 2014. These days, they seem to be moving forward with approvals for a hotel and 27 residential units on the land.
Before getting into real estate, the well-traveled pitcher toed the rubber for 13 seasons and racked up 324 saves over his career.
Michele Turnquist holds the listing.
