Former NBA Coach Don Nelson Lists Stunning Hawaii Home for M

The winningest coach in NBA history is selling a winning property in Hanalei, HI, for $15 million.

Sitting on a 5-acre parcel on Kauai’s coveted and quiet northern shore is the 2,738-square-foot bungalow with two beds and 2.5. Built in 1998, this home is now on the market for the first time.

Located on Haena Point, the property is “an extremely rare opportunity to acquire one of the preeminent locations on the North Shore of Kauai,” according to the listing.

The home is surrounded by lush foliage and offers views of the Pacific Ocean and beach. The open floor plan includes a living area with a cathedral ceiling. There are two master suites at either side of the residence plus an office with custom-built desks and shelves. Covered lanais extend the living areas outdoors.

The property overlooks Kanaha Reef and the Pacific, which offer all kinds of water recreation, from net fishing to kitesurfing, and swimming. Joyce Funk holds the listing.

Nelson is known for his love of Hawaii, and spends his time on Maui, where he owns property in the town of Paia, according to SFGate.

Nelson, 77, enjoyed a long and storied career in the NBA. A former player, he later spent decades as a coach for many teams, including the Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, and Golden State Warriors. In 2012, Nelson was inducted to the Basketball Hall of Fame.
