Former NY Giant Osi Umenyiora Relists Atlanta Mansion for .3M
Two-time Super Bowl champ Osi Umenyiora didn’t make it to the NFL by giving up easily. The fearsome defensive end is demonstrating that same tenacity when it comes to selling his Atlanta mansion, which has been on and off the market since 2007.
The former New York Giant is taking another shot at selling the home, recently relisting the property for $2.3 million.
The ornate and formal home gives off major English manor vibes, which is fitting for Umenyiora, a British transplant. Built in 1987 and recently updated, the four-story home has expansive views of the nearby Chattahoochee River. There are six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and two half-baths.
The home is high drama from the moment you step through the front door and are greeted by walls of windows, an enormous staircase, and a showstopping crystal chandelier. There’s also a living room with modern fireplace, a home theater, sauna, gym, heated pool and spa, and wine cellar with tasting area.
Umenyiora purchased the home in 2006 for $2 million and put it back on the market less than a year later for $2.8 million. It’s been listed more than a dozen times since 2015, at one point priced as low at $1.65 million.
Umenyiora currently works as a TV football analyst. He and his wife, Leila Lopes, Miss Universe 2011, announced in February they are expecting their first child together.
It seems this stately Atlanta home will no longer work for Umenyiora and his growing family. Let’s hope a buyer who loves river views and formal living sees the opportunity to play ball with the former Giant and make him an offer he can’t refuse.
