Home of the Late Chester Bennington Has Price Reduced Again

The price on the contemporary-style home of the late Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington has been reduced.

The Palos Verdes, CA, property initially went on the rental market in January for $8,800 a month, which is a reasonable price for the prestigious Lunada Bay area. It was then listed for sale in March for $2,480,000, later reduced to $2,399,000. Just last week the price was trimmed to $2,385,000, just slightly above the neighborhood’s median listing price of $2.3 million.

It’s a spacious five-bedroom, four-bathroom home with a sparkling pool and spa in the upscale coastal community of Palos Verdes Estates. But it also has a tragic backstory: Bennington took his own life there in July 2017. For days, fans left flowers, candles, and messages on the front curb.

According to public records, Bennington purchased the 3,956-square-foot house in May 2017 for $2.4 million. It sits on a half-acre lot in one of the area’s finest school districts.

The master suite comes with a walk-in closet and a luxe remodeled bathroom. The kitchen has also been remodeled, and now has stainless-steel appliances, a walk-in pantry, and comfy breakfast nook. There are vaulted ceilings throughout the home.

Outside, in addition to the pool and spa, there are three decks with views and a children’s play area. There are also hiking trails on the nearby ocean bluff.

At the time of his death, Bennington was married to former model Talinda Bentley, and together they had a blended family of seven children. He was a two-time Grammy winner with Linkin Park, and also sang with the Stone Temple Pilots and Dead by Sunrise.

The musician’s death has led to a movement to bring awareness to the issues of depression and suicide. A recent video features Bennington’s wife and sister discussing the issue of mental health and how to recognize the signs of depression.
