Horror Maestro Wes Craven’s Home Selling in Hollywood Hills
What do “The King of Cool” actor Steve McQueen and maestro of horror director Wes Craven have in common? They have both owned this Mid-Century Modern compound in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles. It’s now pending sale with a list price of $3.3 million.
The 3,594-square-foot home, which features floor-to-ceiling windows, cityscape views, and a Zen garden, is touted as “perfect for creative minds.” That sounds about right—Craven bought the home in 1992, after which he directed and produced many blockbusters, including “Scream.”
The three-bedroom home features an open floor plan with post-and-beam design. Two koi ponds, water fountains, a saltwater pool and spa, and a pergola-covered patio are a few other soothing outdoor features on the nearly half-acre lot.
Also of note is the huge master bathroom, which features two vanities, a step-up soaking tub, and a cavernous walk-in shower.
Craven died of brain cancer in 2015; he was 76. He is widely credited with reviving the horror genre with titles such as the first “Nightmare on Elm Street,” “The Hills Have Eyes,” and “Wishmaster.”
