Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner Ready to Move Into a Dazzling DC Home
Incoming first daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, have snagged a Washington, DC, dwelling in the ritzy Kalorama section of the nation’s capital.
The couple plan to move into the six-bedroom, five-bath house, according to Washingtonian magazine, which attributes news of the deal (but not the exact address) to Washington Fine Properties co-owner William F.X. Moody.
Other sources drop the pin at Tracy Place Northwest, just a couple of blocks from where the Obama family will settle when they vacate the White House later this month. In fact, we featured the property reportedly bought by Trump and Kushner when we looked at seven homes for sale in the Obamas’ new neighborhood last September.
The Washingtonian reports that the white brick house was sold in December for $5.5 million, but it’s unclear if the couple bought the home or are just renting it. In September, the home was on the market for $5.6 million. The last sale on record for the property was in 2013 for $3.5 million.
The boxy Colonial, built in 1923 and recently renovated, features hardwood floors and molding throughout, five wood-burning fireplaces, a formal dining room, and a white kitchen with contemporary-style cabinets and quartz counters. The backyard has a patch of grass and a flagstone patio.
Since the house has six bedrooms, we assume Trump and Kushner are planning on moving their three young children to the nation’s capital. Kalorama, bordered by restaurant-filled Connecticut Avenue and woodsy Rock Creek Park, is close to the city’s most exclusive private schools. It’s also a quick hop to the National Zoo, which the kids will love.
