Jewelry Designer Judith Ripka Selling a True Gem in the Hamptons for M
Jewelry designer Judith Ripka is selling her gem of a Hamptons home for $6 million. The Bronx-born Ripka, who sells her designs on QVC and the Shopping Channel, also has a golden touch when it comes to real estate.
Ripka purchased the four-bedroom, three-bath Southampton, NY, jewel box in 2001 for $2.5 million. The 1,700-square-foot vacation home sits on a 4.2-acre lot on the famed Meadow Lane, across from the ocean on Shinnecock Bay.
According to the listing, the serene spot is “elegantly renovated and impeccably maintained.”
The home features a formal dining area, living room, waterside pool, and outdoor decks. There’s also preserved land on both sides of the gated property, which provides both tranquility and privacy.
Both are what the New Yorker must crave. According to a 2015 story by New Times in Broward Palm Beach, Ripka’s former interior designer sued the jewelry maven, claiming she had pressured him to trade sex for a discount on furniture.
Apparently the brush with bad press hasn’t hurt Ripka’s business. Her designs are worn on the red carpet by A-listers such as Naomi Watts, Miley Cyrus, and Isla Fisher. Ripka’s signature silver and gold collections can be found at major department stores such as Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.
