A legendary NFL head coach with over 200 victories to his name is selling his longtime Carolina home.

Marty Schottenheimer’s Cornelius, NC, mansion was just placed on the market with a listing price of $3.45 million.

Just north of Charlotte, the waterfront property sits on over 8,000 square feet next to Lake Norman and features five bedrooms with eight baths (five full). Most important, the mansion has 180 feet of shoreline.

Luxury features include cast-iron entry doors, travertine marble, warm hardwoods, custom cabinetry, extensive millwork, and stone accents throughout the mansion built in 2007.

Inside, you’ll find an exquisite kitchen with a keeping room and a spacious owner’s suite that also has a morning kitchen. The mansion has an elevator.

Outside, there is a recreation room with year-round views of Lake Norman, a wine cellar with a tasting room, and a guest suite. Verandas extend to the resort-style pool and spa for entertaining and lakeside dining.

Residents of the community will find a golf course, tennis courts, and nearby walking trails.

Schottenheimer, who was a head coach in the NFL for 21 years and played in the league for six seasons as a linebacker, announced in 2016 that he has Alzheimer’s.

He last coached in the NFL in 2007 with the San Diego Chargers after successful long-term stints with the Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs. He finished his coaching career with a 200-126-1 record—good for seventh all-time in terms of coaching wins.

He led teams to the playoffs 13 times in his career, but he has the distinction of being the only head coach in NFL history with 200-plus wins to never win a Super Bowl. He wound up with a playoff coaching record of 5-13.
