Despite his unceremonious ouster from Louisiana State University, football coach Les Miles just can’t quit Louisiana. LSU’s former head coach recently sold his home in Baton Rouge, but he’s hedging his bets with the purchase of another property in the city.

The longtime Tigers coach sold his house in the Bocage Lakes community for $1.45 million, according to the Advocate. The 5,600-square-feet, six-bedroom, 6.5-bath mansion went on the market for $1.8 million in 2016, just a few weeks after he was fired from LSU. The Miles family had bought it in 2005 for $1.1 million, so they made a small profit on the sale.

The “comfortably elegant home” is located in a gated community, and features a chef’s kitchen with breakfast area that looks out to a large keeping room with fireplace.

The master suite has a spalike bath and a private workout room. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, each with a private bath, and a sitting area. There is also a separate living room, office, and formal dining room.

The screened-in porch overlooks the pool and spa and comes with a gas grill, double sink, and slate flooring. There’s also a sport court, security gates at the driveway, and a newly painted exterior. The home is located close to Towne Center’s restaurants and shops. Quita Cutrer represented the listing.

Miles traded down to a smaller, newly built home he purchased in November for $1.3 million. It measures 4,375 square feet and has four bedrooms and five bathrooms.

Since his departure from LSU, Miles has served as an analyst for ESPN and Fox. The former football player was a two-year letterman at the University of Michigan, where he also started his coaching career. He’s known as the “Mad Hatter” for his signature white cap and offbeat play-calling.
