Lighthouse Rides New Wave and Crests as the Week’s Most Popular Home
A little lighthouse returns to make another splash as this week’s most popular property on realtor.com®.
Listed for $249,000, the quaint structure is located 3.5 miles off the coast of Matthews, VA. It caught the eye of New Kids on the Block singer Jonathan Knight, who tweeted the listing. The resulting clicks are proof the boy band member still has the right stuff when it comes to manufacturing buzz.
The lighthouse, which works but is in dire need of some TLC, topped our list two years ago when it first bobbed onto the market.
The affordable “Fixer Upper” house that reigned last week cracked the list again this week, but it’s now off the market. We’ll do our best to track down whether the home was the subject of a reality TV–fueled bidding war.
Making the list this week are a must-see Mid-Century Modern in Kentucky, a “barndominium” not located in Texas, and a former church in Illinois.
Let us pray that you have the strength to scroll through all 10 of this week’s most popular properties.

Why it’s here: Mid-Century Modern design did make its way to Kentucky! Built in 1957, this home has two master suites, floor-to-ceiling windows, vaulted ceilings, spectacular views, an enormous deck, and a fire pit.

It was in pending status last week; this week, it’s off the market. Listing agent Shelly Negrete said the transaction closed on Wednesday, and it was one of her favorite sales ever.
Although she couldn’t divulge the final price yet, she said, “The closing was amazing, with tears and laughter and lots of stories told among the buyers and seller.” Wow.
