Massive Mulligan: Golf Legend Raymond Floyd Selling M Hamptons Mansion
Hall of Fame golfer Raymond Floyd has put his Southampton, NY, compound on the market for $25 million. The house has been dubbed “The Mulligan,” though we don’t believe he took many in his career.
No do-overs are needed here. As one local publication marveled, “The exterior of this property ought to be in a brochure called Gracious Southampton Living.”
The shingle-style, 10,000-square-foot home on a 3.25-acre lot is surrounded by covered porches, a white picket fence, planters filled with flowers, lush lawns, and wicker furniture. You expect someone to run out and offer guests sweet iced tea.
And we imagine there are a lot of cold beverages being served here, as this compound on the beach can easily accommodate family, friends, and friends of friends.
The enormous home includes a living room that opens to a back deck. The formal dining room also opens out to a deck with retractable awning.
The 12-bedroom main house includes a chef’s kitchen with a butler’s pantry, separate staff quarters, a gym, wine cellar, and laundry. There’s also a five-bedroom guesthouse.
Outdoors there are a pool, tennis court, dining area, play set, gardens, and fruit trees.
“This kind of property is rarely available,” the listing states.
While the property doesn’t have a putting green, you can head to any number of nearby golf courses to squeeze in a round or two.
Long retired, Floyd, 74, won 22 PGA tournaments, including four major championships. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1989.
