After inking a $50 million contract with the Miami Heat in 2016, guard Tyler Johnson invested in a custom-built mansion in Pinecrest, FL, a suburb of Miami.

The Fresno State product had paid $4.85 million for the huge estate, which includes twin kitchens, six bedrooms, and 8.5 bathrooms. It’s big enough for, well, an entire NBA team.

At the time, Johnson had anticipated relocating his extended family from California, along with his girlfriend, but things didn’t go as planned.

“In the end,” says listing agent Kimberly Knausz, “the family didn’t make the move from California.”

The Mediterranean-style mansion features an incredible outdoor space characterized by expansive archways, spacious seating and dining areas, and a large pool with spa. Naturally there’s a basketball court out back.

The interior features marble floors throughout. In addition to the two chef’s kitchens, there’s a media room, game room, office, and formal dining room. There’s endless space for entertaining, and the landscaping is straight out of a Florida postcard. Despite all its beauty, the home just wasn’t right for Johnson.

Without his extended family, the mansion was just too big for his needs, so Johnson listed the home for $5.25 million in July 2017. It eventually sold for $4.35 million.

The new homeowner is certain to enjoy all the top-notch features and unbridled luxury. In the meantime, we wish Johnson well as he finds his own slice of sunshine in South Florida.
