On April 27, 2002, MLB All-Star Derek Lowe pitched a no-hitter for the Boston Red Sox, one of baseball’s most hallowed achievements. Now retired, Lowe is looking for another noteworthy achievement: the sale of his Fort Myers, FL, home.

On the market for $4.5 million, the 8,157-square-foot home sits on a half-acre lot and features five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and two half-baths.

There are antique doors, wood flooring, and beamed ceilings throughout. The home includes two pools, a gym, custom bar, wine cellar, home theater, and basketball court.

The home is located in a gated community, according to listing agent Jay Westerlund of My Florida Real Estate. “Renaissance is one of the lowest-density golf communities in South Florida. It’s a pretty exclusive golf community.”

Westerlund notes that the luxe features of this grand mansion distinguish it from the other Tuscan-inspired homes in South Florida.

For baseball fans, this home is also a special catch. It’s located just minutes away from the spring training facilities for the Minnesota Twins and the Boston Red Sox.

Lowe is a two-time All-Star. He also toed the rubber for six other MLB squads over the course of his 17-year career. He memorably won the World Series ring with the Red Sox in 2004.
