Recently retired NFL quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is moving on from his $1.5 million estate in Indianapolis after signing a deal to replace Mike Ditka on ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown.”

Hasselbeck—yes, of that Hasselbeck family, brother of NFL analyst Tim Hasselbeck (who’s married to a former co-host of “The View,” Elisabeth)—spent two seasons backing up Brett Favre in Green Bay before joining the Seattle Seahawks.

In the Pacific Northwest, his career flourished—he led the team to five consecutive playoff appearances and won an NFC championship with the team in 2005. In recent years, he’s bounced around as a capable backup and his last stop was as backup to Andrew Luck with the Indianapolis Colts.

Hence this Hoosier house.

The exterior

The five-bedroom, Regency-style home combines traditional and modern: Out front, a balcony covers the entire second floor, spanning two boxy wings on either side.

The segmented open floor plan allows the inhabitants to eat, entertain, and watch TV at the same time—without worrying about sound colliding. Partial walls separate the spaces without restricting flow.

The spacious master bathroom is nearly as large as the bedroom, with dual vanities, a generous tiled shower, and a standalone tub. Nooks and crannies provide plenty of space for buyers to install additional storage.

Out back, grass covers the 1.32-acre lot, making it the perfect spot for outdoor entertaining or throwing a ball around with your best buds. A sizable adjoining patio offers room for a fire pit or dining alfresco—and with a four-car garage, none of your friends will be left without parking.
