MVP Miguel Cabrera as Your Landlord? It’s Happening in Florida
If you’re a baseball fan, there’s nothing cooler than hanging out at home with friends and being able to proclaim that the one and only Miguel Cabrera is your landlord.
A lucky tenant in Hollywood, FL, can step up to the plate and do just that. The former third baseman for the Marlins and current Detroit Tigers star is renting out a four-bedroom home for $4,200 a month. Cabrera bought this home in 2005 for $930,000. The home has been rented out several times since then.
The home sits on a quarter-acre lot and measures 2,500 square feet. It’s located just 3 miles west of Hollywood Beach.
However, a new tenant won’t find many baller-worthy bells and whistles on the property. According to listing brokerage Optimar International Realty, a recent paint job and kitchen upgrade—including a spacious eat-in area—are two major draws. The home’s main feature is the master suite with a pair of walk-in closets. There’s wood flooring throughout the second story of the home.
Pool and landscaping maintenance are included in the rent, so you won’t need to worry about hiring a pool boy or gardener.
While his career isn’t over, Cabrera is already one of the most prolific hitters in MLB history. In 14 seasons, the slugger boasts a .320 career batting average with over 2,500 hits and nearly 450 home runs. His on-base percentage is a smidge under .400 and he’s already driven in close to 1,600 runs.
He’s an 11-time All-Star and a two-time Most Valuable Player. In 2012, he became the first player since 1967 to hit for the Triple Crown. Cabrera has won four batting titles and has a World Series ring from his rookie season with the Florida Marlins in 2003.
