Nationals Pitcher Gio Gonzalez Selling Florida Mansion With Massive Gym
A half-year after buying a fancy mansion, Washington Nationals pitcher Gio Gonzalez has balked. His home in Southwest Ranches, FL, is now on the market for $1.875 million. It’s the second time he’s listed a home in the small Florida town in the span of a year.
“It’s kind of bittersweet for him, but I think he just wants a change of scenery,” says listing agent Renata Jernigan of The Agency Luxe. Gonzalez bought the house “on the spot” and “was filling out a contract in the driveway,” Jernigan adds.
Gonzalez bought this five-bedroom, 5,235-square-foot home in March. Last year, the 31-year-old southpaw sold a different home in Southwest Ranches, one he had owned since 2012. For his previous home, the alluring draw was its indoor/outdoor pool. For this home, it’s likely the gigantic gym which Jernigan described as a “mini LA Fitness.” It seems appropriate for an elite athlete.
Built in 2010, the home is loaded with smart features that can be controlled remotely, says Jernigan. The home also features marble flooring, granite countertops, walk-in closets, and an elegant master bathroom, complete with a flat-screen TV.
Out back there’s a saltwater pool and spa, which are adjacent to a kitchen complete with pizza oven, rotisserie, wine cooler, and television.
