NBA Superstar Chris Paul Selling Bel Air Mansion for $11.5M
NBA Superstar Chris Paul Selling Bel Air Mansion for .5M
Just because nine-time NBA All-Star Chris Paul listed his Bel Air mansion for $11.5 million doesn’t mean he’s leaving L.A. via free agency next summer. While the Los Angeles Clippers point guard is shedding this SoCal mansion, he purchased another mansion in celebrity-friendly Calabasas last year.
However, the Bel Air Crest estate he’s selling is a bit bigger and more expensive than his new Calabasas abode. The main residence on Paul’s half-acre Bel Air property measures 12,184 square feet. It has eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and two half-baths.
Among its more arresting features are a subterranean wine cellar with storage for 500 bottles, a 12-seat home theater, an elevator, a billiard room, a gym with sauna, a 10-car garage, and a backyard that includes a covered entertainment area, a kitchen, a barbecue station, and a pool.
The master suite has a mirrored ceiling, a sitting room with kitchenette, a fireplace, a private balcony, his-and-her closets, and his-and-her private spa baths. Paul bought the home four years ago from singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne for $8.5 million. He updated the Mediterranean-style home with distinctive hardwood floors, more modern fixtures, and white gallery walls, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Meanwhile, in December, Paul purchased a slightly smaller house, measuring 10,400 square feet, on a bigger lot of nearly 2 acres. He paid $9 million for the Calabasas pad, which has five bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms, a detached guesthouse, a lighted tennis court, a crafts room, and a kitchen with pizza oven and island with eight-person seating. Bonus: This home is in Kardashian Country, where Khloe and Kourtney have owned homes.
Paul and his wife, Jada Crawley, have two children, and they cheered their daddy on last year as he averaged an impressive 19.5 points and 10 assists per game for the Clips. With stats like that, and a house like this, you can see why the Clippers would be reluctant to let him go, and he wouldn’t be eager to leave.
