New Phnom Penh Airport Construction Set to Finish Ahead of 2023 ASEAN Summit
The construction of new Phnom Penh International Airport, located in Kandal province, is scheduled to complete ahead of 2023 ASEAN Summit, which will be held in Cambodia.
Oknha Pung Kheav Se, Chairman of OCIC, the company is granted to invest in the new airport, said that the construction work is run smoothly as planned.
Speaking to reporters at the Construction Industry Expo held on December 5 at Koh Pich Conventional Hall, Oknha Pung Kheav Se said that “Now, we are constructing the groundwork and we are building the runway and we continue our works because we don’t have any problems of construction. The construction will be completed by 2023.” (Read more)
With airport construction undergoing, Oknha Pung Kheav Se said that the firm is developing a special economic zone near the airport construction, commercial city and the firm plans to build affordable house buildings in the area.
OCIC was granted in January 2018 a concessional investment project building the new Phnom Penh International Airport, located in Kandal and Takeo provinces. The investment amount costs US$1.5 billion (Read more) and the construction has started in September 2019 (Read more).
