No Laughing Matter: Chris Rock Selling Brooklyn Home for .25M
Everybody might hate Chris, but there’s a likely chance they’ll love his apartment.
Comedian and actor Chris Rock has put his Brooklyn apartment on the market for $3.25 million. Rock purchased the property in 1996, when he was a cast member on “Saturday Night Live.”
According to the New York Post, Rock moved out shortly after his 1996 marriage to Malaak Compton-Rock, now his ex-wife. Since then he’s rented out the property for anywhere from $7,950 to $15,000.
The 3,700-square-foot property is located in the Clinton Hill neighborhood. For a buyer, there’s an option to configure it as a two- or three-bedroom layout. It includes an outdoor patio with a built-in barbecue, a two-car garage, a 23-foot master suite with skylights, and a roof terrace.
Built in 1901, the home still has the exposed bricks, wood beams, and 12-foot ceilings characteristic of early 20th–century construction.
Rock is currently working on two Netflix specials, which will net him over $40 million. The specials are set to be released later this year.
