After helming a dramatic two-season turnaround at the University of Central Florida, football coach Scott Frost is headed back home to Cornhusker country.

Frost’s immediate success in Orlando, FL, made him a hot commodity, and when his alma mater, the University of Nebraska, desperately needed a new head coach to revive its flagging football program, Frost took the job.

A Nebraska native who starred at quarterback for the Cornhuskers in the mid-’90s, Frost has packed his bags and is ready to sell his fully renovated mansion in Winter Park, FL, for $1.8 million.

Frost and his wife, Ashley, purchased the custom-built home for $1.65 million in February 2016, shortly after he accepted the job with the UCF Knights.

The couple renovated the entire house, according to listing agent Jenny Wemert. The home’s Mediterranean influences were ditched in favor of a home that “looks like a Restoration Hardware catalog,” says Wemert.

Ashley Frost, who oversaw the home’s renovation, “has quite an eye for design,” Wemert says.

The 6,000-square-foot, five-bedroom home also features a generous outdoor area with a pool, kitchen, fireplace, and patio. The gated home sits right on Bear Gully Lake and comes with a boat dock.

According to Wemert, the open chef’s kitchen is the heart of the home. But the true highlight might be the dramatic two-story foyer with contemporary light fixtures.

The space is light and airy, she says. “You walk in and you feel like you’re on vacation.”
