Playboy’s ‘Bunny Hutch’ Hops Onto the Week’s Most Expensive New Listings
Playboy’s ‘Bunny Hutch’ Hops Onto the Week’s Most Expensive New Listings
It wasn’t hard to zero in on this week’s most expensive new listings. We only had to delve into a couple of familiar locales—Southern California and Florida—to find four of them. In Florida, you can pick between a $47.9 million beachfront home by the Gulf of Mexico or a luxurious $20 million Miami Beach penthouse by the Atlantic Ocean.
In Southern California, the two spreads are quite different. First up is the home known as the Bunny Hutch, located right across the street from the Playboy mansion. Now being touted as an awesome development opportunity on one of Los Angeles’ most desirable streets, the five-bedroom ranch with a centerfold-worthy past is being treated like a tear-down. In contrast to the work needed on the former Bunny Hutch, there’s a magnificent turnkey estate in Montecito offering ocean views and a sporting connection.
This week’s lone home not in the Sunshine State or Golden State is a worthy gamble for $30 million. Located in Las Vegas, the six-level mansion comes with three (!) elevators to ferry precious cargo throughout the nearly 30,000-square-foot estate.
Ride along with us as we press the button to take you to the top of this week’s most expensive new listings.
1. 4540 Gordon Dr, Naples, FL
Price: $47,900,000 ($5,961 per square foot)
Luxe factor: On Florida’s Gulf Coast, this beachfront home is only a couple of years old. Not exactly a megamansion—it measures “only” a little over 8,000 square feet—it features a gorgeous courtyard, a beautiful outdoor living room, and a cool pool. Property records indicate the “iconic home” belongs to Ray Berry, the founder of The Fresh Market gourmet supermarket chain.

2. 9 Echo Peak Ln, Las Vegas, NV
Price: $30,000,000 ($1,045 per square foot)
Luxe factor: Known as SkySide, this massive Vegas mansion is seeking a record jackpot. If sold at the current asking price, it will eclipse the city record set by David Copperfield‘s $17.35 million home sale earlier this year. Spanning six stories and more than 28,000 square feet of living space, the estate has barely been lived in, according to the Wall Street Journal.

3. 1 Collins Ave, Penthouse 6, Miami Beach, FL
Price: $20,000,000 ($5,669 per square foot)
Luxe factor: This luxurious South Beach penthouse is awaiting its first buyer. Located in the One Ocean building, the brand-new unit offers almost equal square footage indoors and out. The four-bedroom home’s interior measures 3,528 square feet while the gorgeous rooftop terrace clocks in at 3,130.

4. 333 S Mapleton Dr, Los Angeles, CA
Price: $19,900,000 ($2,975 per square foot)
Luxe factor: It’s the Bunny Hutch! After serving as “a supplemental residence to bevies of Playmates” and appearing in the reality TV show “The Girls Next Door,” the home hit the market in 2013 for $11 million. It didn’t secure a buyer looking for a piece of Playboy history and proximity to the Playboy mansion, which is right across the street. Now back on the market with a $9 million price hike, the home is now being marketed as a prime development opportunity. Bunnies, meet bulldozers.

5. 710 Picacho Ln, Montecito, CA
Price: $19,500,000 ($1,928 per square foot)
Luxe factor: Belonging to Tampa Bay Buccaneers co-Chairman Ed Glazer, this Montecito mansion was purchased for $15 million in February 2015. A few months later Glazer bought the mansion next door for $21.5 million. And, really, who needs two mansions on the same street? Glazer put this newly renovated estate back on the market for nearly $5 million more than what he paid.
